Day 6 – Day at Sea

Hey Mom!

I really enjoy days at sea.

No schedules unless you want one. After the last three days of excursions, we could use a little down time.

We attended Trivia again and went to a talk about the Secrets of Ship Navigation.

Did you know……

The Celebrity Edge is 1,004 feet long. That’s more than 3 football fields

It weighs 130,818 Gross Tons

Our ship was built in France

Cruise ships create all the water used on the ship from the ocean

Most ship captains are from Greece. Our captain had gone to school for almost 11 years before being offered a captains position.

A cruise ship is built in pieces and later welded together

It has a unique, vertically straight parabolic bow designed to cut through water more efficiently, drastically reducing drag and fuel consumption.

There were 67 different nationalities represented on our ship this cruise.

Cruise employees work in 61/2 to 71/2 month contracts. It is a continually rotating ship of employees.

We went to a Matinee Comedy show , drank more coffee, ate more cookies and played some cards.

So far…….I’m winning at cards but it’s a close one!!

Dinner and a show in the theater with headliner Hayden Smith and we finished the night with “Shine the Light” and some dancing with a human disco ball head.

Having the best time!

Love and miss!
