The right place at the right time

Over a year ago, I answered the phone at work. It was a good day.

A funeral home was remodeling their chapel and wondered if Church of Hope would like some pews they were trying to get rid of. OH MY GOSH. PEWS????

Why yes, Mr. Funeral home guy. We would love to have some pews. How fast can I get people together, bring their trucks and trailers to pick them up.  When do you need us to pick them up? At the time we were working on a renovation and thought maybe one or two of them would work in the renovation plan.

Well they didn’t work but they were more than welcome at my house.

After speaking to the Funeral home guy and deciding I want as many of the 12 foot, ridiculously heavy pews that I can get my greedy, grimy little hands on. I also would LOVE to have the kneeling platforms. Yes I can have them? YIPPEE!!!!!!!

My friends who helped, I hope are still friends. They were heavy, oh my gosh heavy. The pews were bolted to the floor and each one had to be unbolted and wheeled out on roller things and then hauled up on trailers. People love me is all I can say.

I gave some of the pews away. I have kept 2 for me and the kneeling platforms are what we are going to talk about today.

I finally brought them home, after storing them at the church for a very very long time. Thank you Church of Hope for your generosity. My husband and my over flowing hoard thank you.

Aren’t they pretty? And big…oh my goodness they are big, but I will need every inch for my plan.

Upon arrival at home, we take apart what needs to be removed. The ends and the kneeling part had to go.

They were cut down to size

Stay tuned. You will see Phase 2 tomorrow.
